The INSPIRE Summer Academy is a one-week program for P-6th grade educators who are interested in learning more about innovative methods for integrating engineering thinking into their classrooms.
Where: Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN
When: June 11th – 15th, 2007 and July 9th – 13th, 2007
Application Deadline: May 1, 2007
There will be two sessions of the summer academy. Summer Academy I (June 11th – 15th, 2007) is intended for participants who are within daily commuting distance of West Lafayette, Indiana. Summer Academy II is intended for participants cross the U.S. Travel expenses to and from Purdue University, housing, and food allowance will be provided for the Summer Academy II participants.
Each participating educator will receive:
- A $750 stipend
- Opportunity to obtain two graduate credit hours
- If two credit hours are obtained during the summer academy, INSPIRE will cover the expense of earning a third credit hour during the following school year
- Opportunity to return in 2008 to participate in INSPIRE as a Bechtel Fellow
