Increased access to space and rapid advances in micro technologies are opening-up a range of exciting new R&D and entrepreneurial opportunities in low earth orbit particularly on the International Space Station (ISS). These small, low cost but potentially high-value payloads have a range of important educational and commercial applications in biomedicine, advanced materials, energy STEM, etc. CubeLabsSM, a form factor similar to CubeSats, have been developed and tested to serve as a mini laboratory on the NanoRacks Platform to conduct these studies aboard ISS. This workshop will provide you with the knowledge, tools and contacts needed to design and fly a successful experiment to ISS.

This unique 4+ day workshop will be held on July 11-15, 2011 in Lexington, Kentucky. The workshop will cover all aspects of designing, developing, integrating and operating science experiments aboard the International Space Station (ISS) using the existing NanoRacks R&D Platform and supporting CubeLabSM modules. The workshop will be presented by a team with a proven track record of student-built hardware, K-12 outreach and working with other teams to design, integrate and operate their science experiments.
