ROSES-12 Amendment 3: Due Dates Changed for Appendix A.20, Precipitation Measurement Missions (PMM) science team

The Precipitation Measurement Missions (PMM) science team seeks investigations related to satellite observations of precipitation using measurements from, but not limited to, the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission (TRMM) launched in November 1997 and investigations related to future precipitation missions, such as the next generation constellation-based Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) Mission to be launched in 2014. This program supports scientific investigations in three research categories: (1) development, evaluation, and validation of TRMM and GPM retrieval algorithms, (2) development of methodologies for improved application of satellite measurements, and (3) the use of satellite and ground measurements for physical process studies to gain a better understanding of the global water cycle, climate, and weather; and concomitant improvements in numerical models on cloud resolving to climate scales.

For Appendix A.20, Precipitation Measurement Missions (PMM) science team, Notices of Intent are due April 30, 2012, and proposals are due June 29, 2012.

On or about March 12, 2012, this Amendment to the NASA Research Announcement “Research Opportunities in Space and Earth Sciences (ROSES) 2012” (NNH12ZDA001N) will be posted on the NASA research opportunity homepage at will appear on the RSS feed at:

Table 2 and Table 3 of the Summary of Solicitation for this NRA will be updated to reflect these changes.
