2010 Texas High School Aerospace Scholars – Deadline Nov 13, 2009

The Texas High School Aerospace Scholars program is an interactive, online learning experience. It is highlighted by a six-day internship where selected students are encouraged to study math, science, engineering or computer science by interacting with engineers at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston.

The Texas High School Aerospace Scholars program is open to high school juniors throughout Texas. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and have access to the internet.

The application deadline is Nov. 13, 2009.

APPLICATION DEADLINE EXTENDED TO FEBRUARY 22, 2009!

The Department of Aerospace Engineering (AE) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) announces Summer 2009 Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REUs). Funding for the REUs comes from a National Science Foundation (NSF) grant.

The ten-week research program focuses on multidisciplinary research in aerospace science and engineering (ASE). We invite highly-motivated juniors (rising seniors) with backgrounds in engineering, computer science, and physics to apply for an REU position.

We would like to invite highly-motivated juniors (rising seniors) with a GPA of 3.0 or higher to apply to participate in REU. US citizenship or permanent residency required.

Space Foundation’s Space Career Fair – April 10, 2008 in Colorado Springs, CO

Attend the Space Foundation’s sixth annual Space Career Fair on April 10, 2008, held during the 24th National Space Symposium at The Broadmoor Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The Space Career Fair is open to college students in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and business administration and transitioning military.  Combine your education and talents with your interest in space and take advantage of a dynamic networking lunch.  (First 300 paid registrants receive a complimentary buffet-style lunch.)  This event is hosted by the Space Foundation, its corporate members, and sponsoring companies.

Reminder – FAA University Design Competition Open

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is offering a Design Competition for Universities for the 2007 – 2008 academic year.

The Competition challenges individual students or teams of students from U.S. colleges and universities working under the mentorship of a faculty advisor to address challenges in three broad areas: Airport Operations and Maintenance, Runway Safety/Runway Incursions, and Environmental Interactions of Airports. Students must have a faculty advisor. Cash prizes are given to first, second and third place winners in each category. The first place winners will present their design solutions at the American Association of Airport Executives June 2008 Meeting in New Orleans.
